  • Hi, my name is Thiago Rocha, from São Luís-MA and I’ll make this post in Portuguese too.
I’m graduated in law, post-graduated in Aplicated Constitutional Law and I’d like to ask you guys what is the kind of contact you have with Bioethics and Biolaw during university… I mean, what are the themes that you discuss, what are the subjects that can be considered intersections between Biomedical Science and Law. Do you guys study human dignity, moral genetic subjects, social aspects of biotechnology, mental health, etc?
Also, I’d like to congratulate you for the podcast, I like it a lot! I write articles about the right to health care and Biomedicina Padrão, together with Biomedcast are great websites, in my opinion. Well, thank you for your attention. I wish you success.

    • Thanks for your comment, Thiago. I’m glad that you liked! First, I had contact with Bioethics in my first semester, unfortunately it was weak. Now that I’m doing research in Genetics at Harvard Medical School, I had some lessons to work in a Genetics Lab. It’s different than others, because we have tools that can be dangerous in “wrong hands”.

    • Hi, Thiago! Thank you for your feedback, It is very important to us!

As Luiz said, we had contact with bioethics at first year of the course. But we study these subjects (human dignity, moral, etc) in anthropology and sociology too.

In some areas of biomedical science, we study some specific subjects, like transfusion in Jehovah’s Witness, or euthanasia in degenerative diseases.

      Again, thanks for your comment!

      Bye!

    • Hey dude! No no, it’s Carlos Chagas. Evandro Chagas is an institute too, but we talked about Carlos Chagas because we know this one.

      Thanks for the comment!

      Sincerely,
